ヴェデットのビールを集めることは、ポケモンを集めるようなものです。ビールにそれぞれのマスコットがあり、かわいいものや風変わりなものもありますが、どれもとても愛らしく親しみやすいキャラクターたちです。その中でも初めて登場したキャラクターは、このヴェデット・エクストラ・ピルスナーのマスコット、ちょっとおっちょこちょいなペンギンです。ヴェデット・エクストラ・ピルスナーは、1940年代末から醸造され、最初は単にモルトガット・エクスポートと呼ばれていました。60年代にヴェデットという名前に変更されました。その後2003年に醸造所が全面的にプロモーションを始め、ヴェデット・エクストラ・ブロンドに名前を変更。その時、このペンギンのキャラクターが脚光を浴びました。2020年、ヴェデット・エクストラ・ピルスナーとして生まれ変わりました。

レトロなラベルと愛らしいペンギンは、ヴェデットの風変わりな一面と、ビールには妥協しない両面を表しています。ブランド名のヴェデットは、手に取りやすくて、飲みやすい、高品質の代名詞で、ヴェデット・エクストラ・ピルスナーも決して例外ではありません。なめらかなモルトと甘いバニラの風味、長く後を引くフルーティーさ、そして穏やかな苦味の余韻…　それらはすべて、フルボディではなく、喉の渇きを鎮めるピルスナーの持ち味です。原料にお米が使われているヴェデット・エクストラ・ピルスナーは、日本のファンを魅了することでしょう。

Collecting Vedett beers is like collecting Pokemon. Each brand has another mascot, one cute, the other wacky, but all extremely loveable. The very first of these likeable creatures was the somewhat clumsy penguin of Vedett Extra Pilsner. However, before the penguin even saw the light, the beer had already been around for quite a while! Originally brewed from the end of the 1940’s, Vedett Extra Pilsner was simply called Moortgat Export. In the sixties the beer was relaunched under the Vedett moniker, but it was only in 2003 that the brewery started fully promoting the beer, renaming it Vedett Extra Blond and with the addition of our penguin as highlight. In 2020 the brand was renamed Vedett Extra Pilsner.

The retro label and the loveable penguin represent the quirky side of Vedett, the beer itself the no-compromises side. The brand name Vedett stands for accessible, easy to drink but high-quality beer and Vedett Extra Pilsner is no exception to that. The smooth malty character and sweet vanilla notes, the lingering fruitiness and gentle bitter finish… it all results in a rather full bodied, thirst-quenching pilsner. The use of rice gives Vedett Extra Pilsner the extra touch that will definitely entice the Japanese fans.
